 | Georgian Old Lady Ref: WG01 Georgia (ex USSR) has many tea growing villagers who manufacture their own tea by hand in their homes. The whole process is completely natural and performed by hand, in the typical white tea way. They pluck buds and tender tips from the bushes, wither them in a single layer over night. Next morning the leaf is hand rolled to curl it and get the fermentation going, and the tea is spread out to dry in the sun. Our roving teaman persuaded a venerable tea making lady in a village near Ozurgeti (in West Georgia) to part with a little of her tea. This unique tea is exclusive to Nothing But Tea, available nowhere else outside of Georgia and only in limited quantities. Our Georgian Old Lady tea is made for us by the lovely Natela (click link below to see photo). There are always differnces between batches of handmade tea and differences between makers but the tea always looks and tastes wonderful.Brewing Advice: One heaped teaspoon per mug add hot water (80degC) for five minutes. Alternatively this tea can be made with boiling hot water. Click to see Natela

 | Georgian Old Gentleman Ref: WG02 Our Old Gentleman tea is made by Iuri in the tiny village of Nasakirali. His tea has all the freshness of a springtime meadow. Old Gentleman tea is very well twisted and even; it is blacker than our Old Lady tea made by Natela, though her's shows more golden tip. In the cup Iuri's Old Gentleman tea is slightly more robust and complex and is a darker brew, while Natela's is lighter and sweeter, as befits a lady.Note for animal lovers - Iuri has an unusual black and white dog with one brown eye and one blue eye! His tea is just as unusual!Brewing Advice: One heaped teaspoon per mug add hot water (80-100 deg C) for up to five minutes.

 | Georgian Caravan - NEW Ref: WG05 Georgia has a fascinating history - it was the Land of Colchis, where Jason went with his Argonauts to seek the Golden Fleece - in classical times people panned for gold by holding a sheep's fleece in the river to pick up small flakes of gold. Also Georgia was a crossroad between the continents of Europe and Asia and a key resting point on the ancient "Silk Road" stretching from China to Venice. Tea was carried for the long journey (or caravan) along this trading route on the backs of camels and mules. It picked up a distinctive smoky aroma from resting by the many camp fires during the journey. Our 'Georgian Caravan' combines modern hand made Georgian village tea with a hint of the smoky China tea that those camels would have carried long ago.100g pouchBrewing Advice: One heaped teaspoon per mug add hot water (100 deg C) for two to three minutes. £4.00 / €4.20
