Persian Garden
Tasting Notes: Persian Garden
Type: Flavoured Green Tea: a
blend of Sencha tea with lemon grass, lemon peel, pear pieces, lime flavour, and mallow flower petals
For tasting 2.8 grams of tea was steeped in 140ml water at 100⁰C in a half size tasting mug for six minutes.
Dry appearance: a rare mix of green leaf colours with large
fruit pieces enhanced by blue mallow flowers.
The dry aroma is predominantly of lime strongly underscored by citrus
and pear
Infusion – visual:
unfurled half leaves of Yabukita cultivar studded with lemon peel
Infusion – aroma:
despite strong vibrations of lemon and lime the green tea manages to make its
presence known
Liquor – visual: a
very attractive clear pale yellow cup
Liquor – taste: nicely
balanced taste combination of sweetness, green tea and sharp citrus, while
finishing on a hint of pear.
Summary: The citronella from the lemongrass
is particularly clean and sharp, nevertheless Persian Garden is a flavoured
green where the flavourings actually compliment rather than swamp the tea taste.
