Tasting Notes: Chill Out and Relax
Type: Flavoured Herbal Tea: an
unusual mix of green honeybush, green rooibos, fennel seed, aniseed, chamomile
flowers and safflower petals. No
additional flavourings are used and all ingredients except the safflowers are organically
grown
For tasting 2.8 grams of tea was
steeped in 140ml water at 100⁰C in a half size tasting mug for six minutes.
Dry appearance: nicely balanced small particle mix of leaf,
seeds and red petals. The dry aroma is
of warm sweet aniseed
Infusion – aroma:
unlike the dry aroma the infusion aroma impact is initially of chamomile
quickly supported by and balanced by sweet honeybush and fennel
Liquor – visual: a
most attractive strongly coloured cup of bright setting-sun orange gold
Liquor – taste: a
welcoming embrace of chamomile and honey with well behaved undertones of fennel
and aniseed
Summary: certainly a tea to relax with –
the colour of the liquor alone could inspire dreams of tropical holidays – and
the embrace of the first sip could recall many tender lost loves . . .
