TR31. Rooibos Blackcurrant
Type: Flavoured Red Rooibos: a mix of red rooibos, blackcurrants flavour, freeze dried redcurrants, strawberries, raspberries and black cherries
For tasting, 2.8 grams of tea was steeped in 140ml water at 100⁰C in a half size tasting mug for five minutes.
Dry appearance: orange to red rooibos matrix with a liberal mix of dried berry pieces; shows a clean sharp fruity aroma
Infusion aroma: a promising serenade of warm fruit notes
Liquor visual: a crystal clear burnt orange liquor colour
Liquor taste: a very well balanced choir of fruits that complement the red rooibos nicely true harmony
Summary: perhaps this blend is misnamed as Blackcurrant? It should be called Everycurrant each fruit in the mix plays its part, none predominates, yet any one would be missed if removed.
Brewing Advice: Use one heaped teaspoon per mug. Add fresh, boiling water (100ēC), steep for seven to ten minutes according to taste.
