Tea Manufacture

All true tea is processed from the fresh green shoots of the bush Camellia sinensis. Young shoots are plucked once per week and are transported to the nearest tea factory. There the green leaf can be converted into black tea, green tea, or oolong tea depending on the process used. Green tea shoots naturally contain catechins (polyphenols) whose ratio and quantity determine the taste and quality of the teas to be made.

There are many varients of tea manufacture developed over the past 3,000 years, but all rely soley on the natural components found within the green tea leaf.

Nothing is added to tea during manufacture, and the only thing removed is water.

The character and quality of the tea you drink is due to a combination of effects - the bush variety, the altitude at which it grew, the soil and the water that nourished it, the proficiency of the plucker, and the dedicated skills of the factory workers
